How Were Peerhay Traditionally Used?

Historically, Peerhay were used in a variety of ways in Pakistani households. Women used them while cooking at floor level in traditional kitchens. They were used as footrests during prayer. Guests were seated on them during large gatherings when there were not enough chairs. Children used them as small seats at the dinner table.
